Meet A Member: Sascha Riech

In our Meet a Member feature, we share our members' favourite memories from their time supporting their club. Whether it's their favourite ever match, the player they idolise who the head coach that they most admire, we're lifting the lid on the person behind the profile.

Today's person is Sascha Riech, a hybrid English-Aussie, yes, you did hear that correctly who lives in Kent but supports the Exeter Chiefs! You might be wondering how that's all happened so read on and all will be revealed.

Favourite Club: Exeter Chiefs

After going to uni in Exeter, Sascha fell in love with Sandy Park "I went to the university of Exeter and just fell in love with Sandy Park, the atmosphere and the people. It's a great city and a fantastic stadium and the fact that they were in some of their best years whilst I was there made it all the better too!"

Favourite Stadium: Principality, Cardiff

An electrifying Principality StadiumAs much as it pains me to say as an Englishman, it's got to be the Principality. Every weekend away trip I’ve had there for the international games has been one of the best weekends of my life. The whole city is just amazing and the stadium with the roof on is electrifying."

Favourite Player: Quade Cooper

Dedicated and entertaining in equal measure

"My favourite player is 100% Quade Cooper, I’ve never seen someone so dedicated and entertaining to watch - a real talent".

Favourite Head Coach: Rob Baxter

Baxter was an imperious player before his successful coaching career

My favourite Head Coach has got to be Rob Baxter. I love his journey from playing for Exeter to coaching them and winning Premierships with them. Always represents himself really well and I think he is a true hero of the sport.

Bucket List Game: England vs Australia

A RWC Final between these 2 great rivals would be a dream match for our Aussie/Englishman!"My bucket list game would have to be an England vs Australia World Cup final. I’m dual nationality so it would be a win win for me! I’ve got tickets to the World Cup final for next year so here’s to hoping!"

And on that very optimistic and hopeful bombshell, we'll all be keeping our fingers crossed for our favourite hybrid Aussie/Englishman's dream! Welcome to the community, Sascha and we look forward to seeing how you use host a fan on those trips - including the Principality stadium, and, who knows, next year's final!
